Sometimes it is hard to know where to start on your painting journey… Never fear! We have prepared a handy Tip Guide to help you plan your next painting project.
Tip 1
Choose the type of paint for your project. If you are repainting a surface, take into consideration the Type of paint you are refinishing. Of course not everyone is an expert like our team, so we are here to help!
Tip 2

Tip 3
Pick your colors. For simple painting projects, you may find you only need one or two colors. If you want to use color schemes to really change your décor, you may want accent walls, or decorative trims. Browse the colours, review trends and select the ones that appeal to your taste. Pop into store and pick up samples.. bring them home to compare them in the unique lighting in your own home to confirm.
Tip 4
Engage everyone involved in the project (including all family members) in the color selection. This will decrease the amount of second-guessing that may occur later.
Tip 5
Measure the total square meterage of each surface to be painted. This will help us calculate the volume of paint required for the job. Draw a picture of each surface (walls, ceilings etc), include doors and windows. Measure each and our friendly team will be able to calculate how much of each product you will need to complete your job.
Tip 6
Break out the BBQ and the esky and round up volunteers for your project. Family, coworkers, friends, and people you may hire to help with the project should be contacted in advance so they can plan to dedicate time if they are willing to help.
Tip 7
List the tools you will need for each stage of the project.
- Ladders
- Drop sheets
- Scaffolding
- Brushes and rollers
- Paint Trays
While planning this part, consider using power tools to help reduce the labor and time the project will take. Airless sprayers and power rollers can really give substantial savings of time and labour if used correctly, and may be available from tool rental businesses in your area.
