What Fertilizer Do You Use in Your Garden?

Why should you fertilize?

What Fertilizer Do You Use in Your Garden?Humans require certain nutrients from food. Similarly, plants require specific nutrients in order to thrive. Unlike humans, plants cannot simply take a daily vitamin, but instead depend on their caretakers to provide the necessary nutrients for survival. Fertilizers contain the necessary nutrients for plants to reach

their full potential and have a long, healthy life.

Fertilizer replenishes the soil. As plants grow and mature, they take in a soil’s nutrients along with water. Over time, the nutrients become depleted. As this happens, plants become sickly and are unable to produce new foliage or fruit. In general, plants take 16 different nutrients from the soil, including magnesium, nitrogen, potassium, iron and zinc. Certain plants, such as citrus, require higher amounts of specific elements. In the case of these plants, customised fertilizer formulas are available.*

What type of product should I be using?

There are many types of fertilizers from Organic, Raw and Manufactured coming in all sorts of mediums.  By far however, the easiest medium to use is pelleted fertilizer like that from Terra Firma.

By using pellets you can get a more even spread that a finer medium and in addition pellets are easy to store and handle.  The benefits of pellets and manufactured fertilizers don’t stop there.  There is less risk of weed contamination than that from Raw Manure (Horse Manure).

Pellet Fertilizer cover a great range of specific uses including Lawn, Fruit Trees, Garden, Fruit & Vegetables….  A full range of pellet products is available here...

The best news is Organic Fertilizer is also available in a pellet form to include 4 forms of Natural Nitrogen, 4 forms of Natural Phosphorus, 3 forms of Natural Potassium, 4 forms of Calcium, 2 forms of Sulphur and 2 forms of Silicon (Terra Firma Organic Life).
