Firstly What is a Halti?

PetLife HaltiIt is a headcollar (similar to that used on horses) which is an excellent walking solution for your energetic dog.

The design stops pulling, turning your dog towards you when they try to pull away. It allows them to pant and drink and has a padded noseband to help create unequalled comfort for your dog. Each HALTI comes with a safety link to provide additional security and on/off muzzling which is not shared by other headcollar brands. If you’re looking for a way to control your dog’s direction of movement whilst maximising their comfort and your own then you’ve found it.

How to best use a Halti

We interviewed a local dog trainer, who recommends that you:

  • Undergo a short weaning/training process to get your dog used to the new headcollar.

  • Use a super light lead on the Halti and your normal collar and lead while training/transitioning

  • Use the Halti at home where distraction is less to introduce the device to your pet before leaving your front gate
